ZACKERA BAKIR

I am a British-Libyan actor and creative with a full notebook and a need to explore. With an extensive CV in both theatre and film and a determination to see better representation of MENA on our screens and stage, I promised myself I would win BAFTA in 5 years (this may have been extended a few times.)

With a passion to explore narrative and character through movement and script, I can’t find a better home than the stage.

As a creative I use theatre as his main environment to ‘play’, my work examines the nuances of being an Arab dual-national within Britain, using multi-media within a physical space to tell my story.

With a real passion to play, his ‘itchy’ hands have found enjoyment from sewing, piano, Kufic calligraphy, skateboarding and photography.
